A rich man who has lost touch with his family dies leaving his entire estate, which includes a large amount of money and a huge house, to a man who is only a casual acquaintance. The man does not feel right being the heir when there is a nephew "somewhere" and he also is not real sure he needs the headache that accompanies receiving a large amount of money and being responsible for such a large mansion. But wait a minute. The nephew shows up and he says he has in fact made contact with his uncle just before the old man died and he is sure there is another will making him the beneficiary. He does not have a copy of the will. All he knows is that it was apparently secreted somewhere in the mansion The man and his children hope to find the will because they wish to turn the estate over to the nephew. The man's wife is very happy being a "lady" and having control over the estate and she too is looking for the will but she plans to destroy it so her husband will not lose out to the nephew. This was a very interesting story and because it was written around the latter part of the 1800's customs and standards and morals are completely different from those of 2016. I happen to like books written in that time period so I enjoyed the book. If you do care for books written way back when....consider this fair warning.Product details
